My name is Omar Alvarez, born on October 10, Havana Cuba, 13 de Mazo, 1971. I was raised in a small town south of Havana, Batabano. My unusual skill for painting and drawing began to manifest at an early age, around age 8. As self continue learning different styles of the masters Paul Cezanne, Claude Monet, Renoir and Manet to develop technical skills and seeking new methods of expression. Over the years began to like Cuban painting landscapes, human figures, animals and still life.

In 1986 I was elected by the Director of the House of Culture to present my first personal exhibition of my artwork. Since then I became a member of Visual Arts and began taking classes in painting and drawing with two great masters, Ismael Gomez and Jorge Soca. Between 1986 and 1995 as a member of this group participates in various exhibitions, both personal and collective. As a result my art works were exhibited in museums, galleries, libraries and schools. Received numerous awards for my artwork.

Unfortunately, between 95 and 96 year when the socialist bloc collapsed causing great economic depression in Cuba the fine arts group broke up because we left without supplies. Because my mother had emigrated to the United States and sent me materials to paint, I could continue painting, drawing and selling my works of art to tourists visiting Cuba. In 2006 he emigrated to the United States and was stabilized on the beautiful island of Key West that I have served as inspiration as it is a wonderful place for artists. I began to paint landscapes of the sea, boats, human figures, animals, surrealism and beautiful everything Key West has to offer. I like sharing my artwork and I hope you enjoy it like me.
